Bixah APP
Bixah is a cybersecurity project focused on developing a smart and user-friendly digital safety application that protects individuals and families from phishing attacks, malicious websites, and online scams. The application works silently in the background to provide continuous protection during everyday internet usage without affecting the user experience. The main purpose of Bixah is to scan and analyze web links in real time before users interact with harmful content. Once the necessary permissions are granted, the app monitors clicked links, opened URLs, and suspicious browsing activity across supported applications and browsers. If a dangerous or suspicious website is detected, the system immediately warns the user before the page fully loads.

Project Overview

Problem Statement

Users often do not fully understand how background cybersecurity applications work, why they require certain permissions, or how they provide protection during browsing activities. This can create confusion and reduce user trust in the system. In addition, requesting multiple permissions such as accessibility services, browser monitoring, notifications, and link scanning capabilities may cause users to hesitate due to privacy and security concerns, leading to limited functionality and reduced protection. Users also respond differently to security warnings, phishing alerts, and permission requests. Some users may ignore alerts or disable permissions after installation, which affects the effectiveness of the protection system and the overall user experience.

Bitdefender Link Checker

Strong OS-level alerts and clear blocking screens. Weakness: legal consent required before users experience any value. Paywall placement is premature but permission strategy is exemplary.

Norton Safe Web

Good security dashboard with scan metrics. Critical weakness: no automatic link detection users must manually initiate scans. Paywall on first launch before delivering any value.

Netcraft

Best-in-class transparency — dynamic shield icon, regional protection toggles, and explicit privacy policy. Weakness: complexity may overwhelm non-technical users.

What's Missing

No competitor combines automatic detection + plain-language explanations + user autonomy + family management in a single frictionless experience.
